14 May 2019 – Padstow

The luxury of a lie in! The tide for Padstow would bar entry until around 1400 and so it was a lazy start and a short motor in to the harbour.
The channel is well marked and the harbour team very professional. It remained winding in the harbour and so our first approach lead to a bowline on but being blown off.

The second attempt was much better and after some jiggling of lines, Eclipse came to rest m=nicely next to the ladders, blown off to keep from pounding the wall all night.

Padstow is a loverly little place to visit, although you see most of it within a few hours of arrival.

The passion that Rick Stein has for the place is clear with several cafe’s, restaurants and even a fish and chip chop fill the back streets.

The locals get their Fish and Chips from ‘Chip Ahoy’ which has been a fish and chip shop for over 100 years!

The only disadvantage with the harbour berth was the dirt, dust and even cigarette ends that blow on to the deck. It takes a good sweep and wash down in salt water.
